Trick XR 75 frames.
« on: July 13, 2013, 07:14:19 pm »
Anyone know much about these frames, found this on a U.S. site and it says made in Australia. The red wording is copied from the U.S. site.

Remember when Red Line made a complete nickel plated chromoly frame kit and your momma wouldn't cough up the $395.00 for it? Well, they don't make them anymore and even if they did you wouldn't be getting it for $395.00.

It is cool though that there are enthusiasts out there that go to great lengths to recreate these past works creations. One of only five made and one customer bailed so there may be one more available if someone is willing to pay the freight from Australia.

One more XR project to go up on the shelf with the DG and PK monoshock frames that will most likely be retirement projects one day. Never been much of an XR75 fan myself but always liked all the trick stuff that was offered up for them.

Redline was/Is a US company who made frame kits & swingarms for various bikes in the 70's, this is a modern copy of one of their frame kit's made in OZ, Looks like a well made bit of gear, What is the website?

BILLET YZ  The REDLINE frames were made in VIC by another forum member, 8 were produced (not 5), they took over 2 years to make after many production problems, they were completed just before Easter this year, they are made of 4130 chromemoly steel (a work of art) and come with the REDLINE decals plus everything in the pics, except the rear axle, brake pedal return spring and power pipe, (the power pipe header has to made to run under the frame), owners will have to have the frames nickel plated,, I own one of the frames, 2 are in NSW, 2 were shipped to the States, the other 4 are still in VIC, I hope to have mine finished for the HBBB next year, but I have a few other projects to complete before then ;).
