I spoke to Vern today 1st thing I noticed was the wicked grin was back........so be warned
It's been a very hard journey for the old bugger since his Averil passed away and while he'll never really get over her loss, there's been a real improvement in his attitude over the last few weeks. I speak to him every week or two and step by step he's been starting to show his old spark and when he told me he'd dragged the old Cheney out of the shed for the Nats I knew he was back. We need to talk him into getting back on his BSA A65 750 flat tracker as well.
Was quick on a speedway bike around Hatcher Park on the Gold Coast till a fall buggered his shoulder for quite a while.
He's just had an op to repair the damage so that might also have helped spark his enthusiasm to race again.
