Dangerous Dave was at the venue late this arvo cursing family commitments on Sunday that will see me thrashing his bike for him.
He said there were a lot of campers there already and all were enjoying themselves.
He sent these snaps from his phone.

I beleive this is the signpost on the road to the venue

Some were well organised

The recently formed VERi motorcycle club ran its first Tallarook Vinduro today and by all accounts it was a great success.

VERi. Vintage Enduro Riders incorporated.

A club made by Enduro riders for Enduro riders and their vintage machines. Being MA affiliated means we can get a better deal for licensed owners with registered machines, be they Rec reg, Classic reg, or full reg.

Today’s  event had a short special test type course of about 3-4 K’s long that gave everyone a warm up and kept those with unregistered bikes busy cutting laps and those with registered bikes took advantage of the State Forest loop rumoured to be around 50 K’s.

The special test course had a good variety of terrain for a short course and helped teach people how to flick between the trees. While it chopped up a little the high usage actually formed some good little berms that had you railing some of the corners nicely. There were a few rocks that climbed out of the ground on the hill but it was mostly negotiable. It was easy enough to conquer if you approached it properly but it was much easier to make a mistake that would see you stumbling.

You couldn't miss the entry to the property...

The effervescent Jo from Scooter News was there to take pictures. To see her photo’s and to read Steves trials and tribulations drop them a line at [email protected]

The event had 72 entries, oddly most seemed interested in Drakies Dribble at the riders briefing.

A big thank you to everyone that made it happen, Steve Taylor who took his Bobcat along to make a parking area, did an excellent job but the event was so popular there were still people parking on the road. Steve Young, RustedStud and others who helped setting out the course, both on the property and in the forest.

They used minimal arrows in the forest and I thought it was very easy to find the way around, well it would have been easy if I hadn't of missed a turn but I still ended up back at the Parc Ferme, wasn't a problem for me and I finished 45 minutes ahead of the rest of the group. ::)

And lastly a big thank you to property owner Peter for letting us rip up his block of land.

They are already talking of Tallarook 2014 next May and they have bigger and better plans already.

Bruce on the Monty (who is the man to go trail riding with as he takes a bag of mixed lollies with him and he very politely shares)
Peter (the landowner) on the Maico behind.
Dangerous Dave’s CanAm, my sponsored ride for the day.
Steve on a CanAm
Paul on the Rokon

Next event is a Red Plate ride in the Ballan area on June 23rd
So start thinking about getting your bike Classic registered, It's only $70.00 a year and there will be more and more events for these bikes coming up.
