360H6/Cappra414 interchangeability

Hi All
I have a Cappra 414 bottom end sans clutch, top end and fuel tank, plus a 360 H6 in pieces and a line on a decent set of Marzocchi forks. What's the chances I could build a good 414 Cappra pastiche with all the bits?

H6 360 engine has a different stroke to 414. Would be interested in the 414 bottom end ;D

My (414) bottom end has a crank, cases and gears. I would need a primary drive/clutch

Can you bore a 360 to a 414 piston ?

Yes you can bore the 360 cylinder to fit a 414 piston the head needs some machining to return the compression to an acceptable level and remove the large step that the larger bore creates.

Unfortunately you can not fit the 360 cylinder to the 414 longer stroke crank without some serious mods I would think

Hi All
Sorry, I was a bit sketchy with the 414 info: I have the cylinder and head but no piston. The cylinder measures 88.0mm with a vernier at the top of the bore. The drive side crank end has suffered some damage and will need the splines built up and re-ground. The front right side of the crank cases have been broken out at the magneto but that too can be fixed.
 
Will the H6 helical gear primary drive work on the Cappra motor? The shafts are the same centres and I believe that an angular contact bearing is used at the far end of the primary shaft to deal with side thrust.
 
Is the 414 rod the same centres/bearing sizes as the 360?
 
I could answer some of these queries if I had a 414 parts list. Does anyone have one for me.........? Please ;D

88mm is standard bore for 414. Yes you can run the 360 primary but I am not sure about the ratio as 414 and H6 are not the same from memory. Also not sure about the helical gear load capacity for the 414 either. The 414 may have heavier springs and extra plates. Jared would know. I'll see if I have a 414 parts book PDF file to send you.

Yep that is true but they are out there. They seem to be available in Spain but they are just so hard to deal with.
