1984 XC, at a guess: It looks like it has the longer XC/MX forks on it, and an Aussie WR would have a compliance date (not many WRs being importered from the USA, and especially not in that condition).

NFI if it's a 250, 430 or 500 though - pipe sugests its a 430/500.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

I think they are the WR short forks Nathan. The CR/XC ones are very long under the axle. As you say a bit hard to tell.

Yep WR forks. 83 430 WR by the looks. No 430 model in 84 as they went to 500's which this is not. The tank is not original though and is for an 84 model or 85 with a radiator Note the half shell exhaust sound proofing held on with the giant pipe clamp on the taper section of the exhaust - another WR feature not used on XC or CR models. Silencer is off a later model as 83 would have a steel round unit not the alloy oval ones. This will be a very nice bike if restored.

Got another rough add on universal Wasp sidecar frame hanging on the wall. Just needs a nice large rough single two stroke to be cut and shut for a super practice outfit.... :D
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.
