Quiet DT1/RT1 Aftermarket Pipe?
« on: April 19, 2013, 09:46:37 am »
Which of the aftermarket pipes for the Yamaha DT-1/RT-1 do you think is the quietest?  We have a track that tests for sound and I want to pass and still use an era-correct pipe.

I've used a GYT pipe with a Supertrapp on the DT1 from Hell and it was as quiet as a stocker. Because of that I've put a Supertrapp on the Jemco on my new RT1 flat tracker.

Are you running the Supertrapp with removable disc?  How many discs for a quiet noise level, how many discs for best performance?

It varies from bike to bike, I have 10 discs in my DT1 and 8 in the flat tracker but I haven't started it yet (hopefully on the weekend). It was a long time ago but I can recall adding and removing discs in the GYT pipe on  the DT1 until I found a happy medium. I assume I'll have to go through the same process with the tracker.
