RM125G 1986 Rebuild
« on: April 14, 2013, 11:36:12 am »
Gday all,

I have scored myself a RM125G project to rebuild and requesting some info on her.

I grabbed this bike with the prospect of a quick build and entered into the Nats event next month so that my son could come ride with me,,,bummer on that idea but for a Pre 90 contest its ok.

I was hoping to make this a minimalist rebuild of $1000 total, the bike is complete with the only real issue is the sprocket cover mounting bolts snapped, so with the cost of the bike being $650, 2 new tyres will set me back $200, seat cover and graphics kit and there goes my budget plan so that is revised to $1500 max....

Since today's plan of racing went out with the rain i have some spare time to strip the RM, 1 hour later Im writing a list of parts req. I want to have the RM look as original as possible, can anyone help with the frame and engine colour??

Thanks

Tim

I had a G model back in the day, can vouch that it looked just like the one in the below ad on ebay

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Suzuki-RM-125-G-VMX-Classic-1986-/111051162317?pt=AU_Motorcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19db2a42cd

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

Geoff
