First job on leaving school, [in a m/cycle shop] thinking i was going to be working on bikes cos i new all about replacing the throttle cable on my farm 'bantam' [used to break cable regularly], was assembling pushbikes. i mean 'assembling--none of this get em out of a box & bolt handlebars on. Started with a hub, spokes & rim & had a thingy to spin it in to make easier to true up both ways [up n down & sideways], god i did bloody hundreds it seemed. Had a reunion there a few years ago [dry cleaning shop now] & one woman who shall remain nameless said [i lost my virginity right there], wasn't damn well with me though!!. [just thought i'd share that with you]. Changing tact a bit, i have a couple on YZ/IT L type wheels with the 'strange' long spokes right through, [not] looking forward to rebuilding one of them [corroded away rims], might not be any worse to do than normal though.
