A well known Speedway/VMX collector mate picked up this rare as shit Carabela speedway bike last year. He'd been looking for 15 years after seeing an ad for one back in the 90's. This one came up minus wheels on eBay for $300 or something silly like that. It's going to hit the track sometime later this year or possibly debut at 2014 HBBB. It's a cool little thing made for Mexican short track speedway, apparently held in bullrings I've been told.

There's a bloke ( a bit of a recluse with a lot of old bikes) in Wilcannia with two brand new unridden Carabelas, a 125 and a 200, both bought from importer Blair Harley in 1973 or so. I came oh so close to getting the opportunity to making him an offer for them but someone spooked him and he won't even let me see them now. I think he thinks they're worth big money after I made the mistake of sending him the VMX #36 with the story I did on the Carabela Marquesa .

So it does John, I'd never noticed until you mentioned it...knowing the Mexicans its probably a Minarelli made under licence by Carabela.

The Aspes looks to have a mid 70s Minarelli motor with the earlier style head from 70/71.
The Carabela speedway bike may have the 200cc motor as the barrel is different to the others. The others are all 125cc I believe.
My Carabela is coming along fine, only have to finish the rims and assemble the wheels etc, install the motor and away we go! :)
