The pvl catalogue should call for the cloth coils as it does for all the open size motors, I have a 1058 on my rt1 and every time I take it o a nats I  spend the race prior bumps starting it...... You just can't get enough kick through on the kick start.  Next years project is to sort that out and ill start with a cloth winding and keep adding weight until I can get enough inertia up to start it on the stand

Got it to start easier with the addition of a Harley type compression release valve installed in the second spark plug hole.  Now moving on to a slipping clutch issue.
