Kawa guys, will an '81 KX250 crank fit a '79?

Anyone know if the crankshaft & rod assembly from a '81/'82 KX250 will work in a '79 model?

I have my doubts that it will fit as the '80-'81 was a whole new bottom end. The '79 bottom end was a carry over from the '74 model.

As far as part No's are concerned the 79 crank was a 1 model only deal.

The rod kits however ran from 78 to 82
