Husqvarna 500XC in South Africa
« on: February 22, 2008, 05:50:50 am »
This one is for Crabman, my nemesis from Team Maico / Beast from the East.

It arrived in crates, I assembled and ran it for 1 day.
The snag list ran to a few pages, so back to the drawing board. It has been apart form some 3 months now, and eventually things are starting to come together.

Here are a few sneak peaks:

I am secretly hoping this will be running in Feb still.

SO, with a few hours to kill after months and months over garage toil, we finally got it right.

I have been buttering up a local Dirt Bike magasine here for as long as I can remember, and we it all came together this week.

This is what we had:

After a few laps, the youngest test rider ripped this one off:

and then a few laps later showed us this:

The full magasine article will come out next month but suffice to say they were impressed. Top of the list of improvements has got to be brakes, but suspension is #2.
They also commented that power delivery, not quantity was a big factor for them.

All I need to do now is go practise, as I have offically run out of excuses
