For the record.
The needle bearings x 2 that fit the AW 1977 (likely the 76 too) bearing number is HK2030.
And they are a bit of a nightmare to get out cleanly. Suggest soaking for a day or more before trying to tap through. Issue when the soft lip folds over flat......
Pete
Hi Pete, for the record, they don't tap through mate. There is a internal machined shoulder on the AW's that the soft side of the bearing is positioned against. You need to push them out from the other side or withdraw them with a collet puller set. If you have tried to push them
"through"? Wellll,,, then you have fuked it and in turn made what is to come, very difficult for your self.
An expanding collet puller, attached to a sliding hammer of course.
Bang Bang, straight out.
I supplied Lozza with one of these "Toledeo" sets a few years back for $137.50, but in actual fact that set retails for $300, and I am unable to do that again at this time. Probably one of the best tool sets you can buy, if working on motorcycles. If you dont want to do that? I can post you just the one you need. And you can post it
Straight back. You can get cheaper sets these days, but the Toledeo has replacement parts and collets.
But then again if you have already destroyed the inner soft lip?
You could have just used a substantially thick flat washer of the correct OD to match the inner shoulder relieved dimension, with two ground flats on it. That way it fits through the ID of the bearing on the opposite side then drop it through to the inner soft bearing shoulder of the opposite bearing and press each of them out, in turn. Have you actually got them out yet Pete?
