Yep, that RM certainly is the ugliest bike the mag's ever presented but how cool is that swingarm?
. My own work aside, I liked the mix in #52. I thought the Yamaico was an interesting bike, I would have figured that an MX125 motor would look pretty miniscule in the full size Maico frame but it looks right. Goolies 495 Kato looks a treat and the article is a good read. Even the little Indian racer was interesting but I think our Jimsons bike is equally as good. To me however the best read was Smithy's piece on Joe Bolger, what a genius he is. His rear suspension system is equally as revolutionary as Tilkins cantilever system used by Yamaha but unfortunately no factories picked it up, if they had perhaps the suspension revolution might have gone in a different direction.
Kens Sweep Rider column was a nice tribute to our old mate Magoo but it's elsewhere in the piece that I found something that bought a wry smile to my face....to quote Ken, "
....She was a regular watcher of another Aussie on US TV at the time, that self absorbed Tosser Steve Irwin and had some vague idea that the bloke was mystical and mysterious. Sorry lady, Irwin just made everything out to be bigger and better than it really was, including himself". At last another brother in arms who thought the Crocodile Hunter or whatever it was Steve Irwin called himself was a wanker. Irwin made a living fuc*ing with poor animals that didn't want to be fuc*ed with. Karma got him in the end
