Over the last 4 years we have run a Motorcycle show in Albury Wodonga called the Border bike fest (you can look us up on the net).
We have separate categories and one of them is our passion Dirt bikes especially vintage dirt bikes.
Last year we had over 300 bikes on display about 20 of which were dirt bikes, we are trying to build the profile up for the dirt bike section so this year we have spoke to our local motor cross club and they have agreed to let us ride at their club champs the day before the show.
We have organised camping at the track, they have showers and toilets food on the day and some entertainment for the Saturday night.
They are offering us a morning practice and 3 rides through out the day, the max charge should be around $40.00 less if you are licenced.
We will ride on their track and just go around some of the jumps, details still to be worked out.
Then all you need to do is wash up the bikes and put them on show for the next day(Just across the road).

All of this will take place on the Melbourne cup long weekend, 3rd and 4th of November.

Could you please let me know if you would be interested in attending as we need to gauge the interest and take it back to the committee?

Old dirt bikers,

Saturday the 3rd of Nov there is the final motox club championship for the AWMCC, we have talked them into having a session (10-15mins) at the end of each round for old bikes of any kind. This will be a gates down open session to all riders and bikes to just ride there old bikes and show the younger punks what real bikes where like and have a blast. Sections of the track can be removed to suit your skill level (just cut through where you like)  and the amount of suspension your bike has or your fitness level. Even if your not riding bring your bike down and put it on show to promote the bikefest which is on the next day. The clubs presentation night is on following the mx.

Cost is

$10 for one day club membership, if your not a club member

$20 for one day recreational licence,

$20 entry

So bring your old clunker and have a blast.

Well some VMX riders took there bikes to the local Modern track for a demo ride  ;) on Saturday, it wasn't very pretty :D apart from our bikes,  the young blokes with there 2012 bikes looked at us from across the pits like we were from another planet, but the club officals were great because they were our age.
The TM didnt go out, I couldn't be that cruel but I am glad I took it because the kick start broke early in the day on the RMS so we had a spare  :) It was the first real outing for both my RM's but not the ideal track type (for me not the bikes) Check our style towards the end of the day, It would have to be the worst start to a race ever  ;D ;D ;D ;D

On Sunday there was the Show and Shine, we VMXer's from the day before were to f%ked to wash our bikes so they went in as is  :-\ which we thought gave them a authentic look. A better turn out of dirt bikes this year, with the Greeves narrowly edging out the KTM and the RM80 for the trophy in the dirtbike section
