WANTED '83 or '84 Husky CR500
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:56:41 pm »
Hey Guy's,

I've kind of set my mind on needing an '83 Husky CR500, 4 speed with white frame, I may consider the '84 model with a plastic tank.  Wanting it to race 'Pre 85' and Evo.

Will pay good money; not 'garage queen' good though  ;-)

I think that Fernando from Sydney had an '84 CR500 Husky for sale in the Just Bikes Magazine recently. From memory , it needed a new conrod though and rod kits are a bit hard to find for the 500 (although there are places that list them as available). In my opinion, the '84 model is better than the '83 because Husky pulled the steering head angle in to 28.5 degrees (30 degrees on the '83 model) and as a result , they turn better. If you dont like the look of the tank on the '84 , you can fit one off an '83, or Clarke tanks in the USA make a white plastic one in the same shape as the '83. If you use either of these tanks though, you have to also change to '83 style sidepanels.
