Bike stands.
« on: April 16, 2008, 08:05:12 pm »
I see the bike stands are many and varied in design and shape; given the groups wide experience can anyone advise a type and Supplier you'd recommend (and ballpark prices)?
I have two bikes needing stands for the pits - and one bike has a down pipe to get in the way of my trusty milk crate.
"Whadaya mean it's too loud?! It's a f*ckin' race bike!! That pipe makes it go louder - and look faster!!"

I bought one of those 3-legged crank stands off ebay for $79 incl gst, plus freight, paid by Paypal, from Graham Rubber P/L in Granville, NSW, ph 02 9637 7344. As I found out, it works beaut even when you're pissing sweat and your legs are rubbery due to a 30-year layoff ! No complaints about design or service. Of course, no good for the weapon with the downpipe.... ;)

Sorry, stand is known as Joplin aluminium mx stand, #15205.

Try this link to Whipps, they do downpipe stands, around $200 though
