Firko, low mount front guard, paint the tank, guards etc  the pearl white with a fat and two thin outer red stripes down the middle of the lot....real 70's racer look .....you'll need the matching helmut and coveralls to go with that aswell, aviator googles and scarfe.....and I'm not taking the piss....thats the hole kit and kaboodle....retro cool. ....why not?....cant say it's not different .

Errrrr, No, no, no, you weird and strangely lovable idiot. It looks like my initial instincts wer right, the AT1 tank looks a tad neater. As far as paint, if I was to give it the GT stripe treatment I might as well use a lighter, smoother tank. The whole idea is to make the bike look like a DT1. Pearl white with black pinstripe, silver painted high mounted GYT front 'guard, not the dumb plastic thing that's on there in the photo, and a silver painted alloy rear 'guard (shown sitting on the rear tyre).

After a slump in action while I diversified into different projects, I'm back into the Hindall "DT1" in a bid to have it ready for the Bonanza. I've put inverted comma's around the DT1 as the bike is now about to undertake a swap to an RT2MX 360 engine recently picked up from the US. To tie in with the new pre 75 engine the bodywork will also undergo a transformation. Gone is the AT1 tank, its place being taken by a YZ80A item. It sounds weird putting a tank from a mini onto a full sized bike but it surprisingly fits well. I'll use replica DT2MX plastic and a DT2MX airbox aiming for a worksish bike look.
Here are a few shots of the tank in place on the Hindall. What do you chaps reckon?





You'll notice that the photos are missing in the early parts of this thread. That came about because my photo hosting site Village Photos went tits up causing all of my photos to disappear. I then went to fix the problem by redoing them through Photobucket but unfortunately the early shots were posted prior to me resigning from the forum and when I came back it's a new account so, in a nutshell, I can't get access to the posts to replace the missing shots. They were photos of the rolling Hindall as I got it a year ago so here's the photos missing from page one.

I was a bit rude to Davey back On August 3 over his suggestion of the pearl white with a big red GT stripe but now the bike's changing clothes, I reluctantly admit that he may just have a point . I really like the paint treatment on this YZ................

I have the colors, measurements and Yamaha decal to do a tank like that (theres a few floating around up here already)....copied off my OW tank ....I'm glad I sewed a seed Mark....that 80 tank looks all right on the bike.
