Adolf Weil

Hello Maico Nuts, the old man is a big fan of Adolf Weil, would anyone have any photo's of him in action. Always admired his smooth style and it seemed like he was of the few riders who could hang with DeCoster and even beat him sometimes. His passing seemed to go unnoticed nearly.

Thanks Ken Baker #54

I don't have any pics of him in action Ken, but co-incidentally this morning Paul sent me this picture of a dual cradled X3 360 with Adolf Weil standing beside it.

There are eras of Maico that wouldn't have amounted to much with out Adolf Weil, that's for sure.
After the disastrous 1975 New Generation model, it was Adolf Weil who saved the day by being directly responsible for the innovation behind the revered 1976 and 1977 motocrossers.
As we all know those models were apply named after him as AW's.
Of course that same design then flowed into the Magnum chassis, which was then further developed into the famous Mega 2.

What a wonderful achievement his life was.
RIP Adolf, and thank you for some of the most exciting and best handling machines of the era ;)
