Now where was I? Let me think now I remember, practise was over and friend Andrew is complaining about no front end grip and no berms. I suggested letting some of the 20 psi's out of the front tyre and getting his weight over the front end as well as not riding around with a broom up his arse! He did as instructed and came back a lot happier. We also worked on the false neutrals that tormented him at the last race. A redesigned gear lever and my boots have worked wonders, probably down to only 4 or 5 missed shifts per lap! By now the sun was up and a bit of a crowd rolled up presumably from Undera and were enjoying the day. Those in the know were excited by the return of #49 on his trusty 360 Pursang. Yes Dennis Curran is back and he is still fast and loose the only difference is that he has a peak on his helmet. In general conversation he informed that the legendary photo in Trail and Track of him hoisting the RH 250 was hard work and he was encouraging the photographer to hurry as "the bloody thing is not that light!"
With the racing underway it became apparent that Jason, Henry Leatham were very much the men to beat. In fact I dont think anybody beat them. Later on in the day when I was trophy girl I frankly got sick of shaking Henry's Hand (joking Henry!) Aso displaying a lot of quickness was Ray Smiths young bloke ( who we decided to call Young Smith!) because we coudn't remember his christian name. The duel he had in pre 75 250cc with "old" Frank DeRose was a ripper. With the results tabulated and the trophies presented we packed up Fang the Sang and headed for home. I could go on about dropping in to see Andrews niece who lives down the road who used to do some modelling but I dont want to bore you....
