Automatic springs breaking
« on: June 08, 2012, 04:42:51 pm »
On my 430 AE I've broken several primary clutch springs in a short time.
After 1 hour for the first, and then after 30 min for the second.
The spring breaks always at the same place, near the 1st coil in
 front of the hub's hole.
Do you ( auto riders) have the same problem, and do you have an explication ?
One explication was on 360 to 420 that the hub's hole were very sharp
 and damaged the spring.
But on 430 , hub's holes are rounded.
I'M ASKING MYSELF IF MY SPRINGS BROKE WHEN I PUT ON DRIVE WITH TOO HIGH HIGH IDLE ( THE GEARS MADE SOME NOISE) AND SOONER THE
MOTOR COULDN'T HANDLE IDLE ( SYMPTOM OF 1st SPRING BREAK).
Thanks
Michel

I raced alot with a guy in our team who rode them and even at the 4 day he would replace them in the morning work period. He had the repalcement thing nailed down and would only take a few minutes to do it.
He would have a complete pre asembled set ready and just slide it out out and new in.
