Hey Montynut,

its a personal choice, but out of interest.

i used to use TTS for 20+ years till 2005 then i switched to Motorex when i bought a KTM300, i now run it in all 4 of my 2st.  i wouldn't go back, is there any reason you still prefer TTS or just that its tried and proven in your bikes?

Tried and proven really never had any problems with it in all the years and relatively inexpensive. Easy to get and everytime I pull the bikes down everything is clean and well lubricated.

Lastly never really thought about changing.

There was a thread on here about a year ago and went on for 20 pages or so but was very informative. From that I also could see no reason to change particularly in the old bikes. Now if I bought a mdern KTM, Husky, Gas Gas 300 or one of the modern Gasser Trials bikes then maybe (well probably) I would change as well.

The previous owner of the '84 KTM was running TTS at 30:1 but I just stick to 25:1 its is easier

yep fair call, why change when you have no issues.

i was the same. the only issue i had with TTS was the power valves in my 86' CR250 used to gum up a bit. i always ran 40:1 TTS.

i have noticed now i use motorex that they rev cleaner much quicker on cold start with the modern oil.

if i didn't buy the KTM i would still be using it too as i don't change much. i tried it to keep my warranty  and used up the TTS and then tried it in other bikes and just kept using it.
