Old Chopper
« on: May 21, 2012, 06:29:30 pm »
Choppers I believed started to appear after the second world war and into the 50s, 60s, and onwards from then.      These photos, one from 1910 would suggest that bikers have been customising and personalising their rides from at least as early as that.  They have the rigid arse end like many of the modern choppers seem to favour.  The modern Chopper might be a little easier to ride, especially when you look at the steering geometry of the 2 in the photos. They had obviously never heard of (trail) back in the day.

Everyday I find one more name to add to the list of people who piss me off.

Interesting but I can't help but feel that second photo has been set up.
Was there really Chopper shops back then ( see add in window) or were these built in the fifties from old bikes?

Yes, I'd say so. It's well done though.
