mikuni jet sizes for XR200
« on: May 21, 2012, 09:50:22 am »
If anyone has seen my KDX200 in the Kawasaki section, you'll see that I'm using what is basically an XR200 motor,at the moment I'm about to fit a Mikuni carb but need a bit of help with a few things ???
First off, what size ?....26 or 30mm ??
Secondly, does anyone know what size jets.... I spoke to Tom at Hatrick but he has no jetting charts for the smaller Honda motors. >:(

So, any help would help,so to speak ;)

I've got a Mikuni on an XR200R motor in my KTonda (XR powered 1990KTM) hybrid.

The current carb is off an RZ350 Yamaha and it's 28mm. My inclination is to use a 26mm carb and I will go back to the original 26mm Kiehin. I'm looking for more torque at mid low revs and I think the 28mm doesn't help this.

I don't think the XR motor needs a 28mm carb unless you are revving the life out of it. I'm in Cairns at present and my bike is in Darwin so I can't tell you what jets I'm running. I won't be home till early June.

From vague memory I think a 165-170 main and a 20-22.5 pilot. All else is std RZ350. It starts and runs ok.
One problem with the RZ carb is the needle jet is a one off and can't be changed.
