Hey guys, I'm George. I'm 54 years young and just restored a 1984 KTM 495. I never raced MX before mostly just rode California desert but never say never so I started racing retrocross and even though I 'm still coming in last in the heats I'm having a blast. I have progressed some in that I was a 1/2 lap off in the beginning to a bike length off now. Soon I will finish less the last!!

Glad to be here....

Keep it up George!  ;D

My first season I never made 5 laps because the Experts always lapped before I made it to the white flag, but I always rode home with a smile on my face.  Now I hold my own out there and I'm still having a ball.

(After you race that 495 for awhile switch to a 250 and you'll twist that throttle a little more.)

If I switch to a 250 I can't use the 495 power in straights to catch up.....lol. My issue and I'm getting over it, is the jumps. I had a shock that wasn't working and a soft spring that were causing me to bottom out and not only beat me to death is distroyed my confidence. Now it just a matter of showing some balls.....
