779 Was Max's outfit that yellow 650 (based) Yam powered Wasp that Beaumont had for a while? If so it fairly motored! I remember riding it if it was the same one..actually I remember racing other people to ride it..I was very fast! ;D not so fast on a sidecar though. From memory Phil sold it to Reece Hampson at Northside Suzuki and he put it on the road :o ;D

Doc ,  there used to be a MC  accessories joint opposite Perry park of which I spent many an hour killing time in the 80s .
Bought  a jet ski in 1981( as they where the hot ticket back then ) from the Kawasaki dealer that operated in High St  Southport - across the road was Southport Suzuki and I think Honda where around the corner in Nind St.

That MC accessories joint was McLeods Stew. That's where I purchased all my Go The Rat gear in the day. Incidently it's now located at 53 Raubers Rd Nudgee..right at the gate to the track ;) I believe the QLD branch is headed by Leo Cash and the whole deal owned by Repco.

779 you'd probably know Big Brett aka Bretto or Gilla seen on the left in the pic, he was at CD7 talking with Popeye.  On the right is Leo and his son Josh..dunno who that weird guy in the middle is but he managed a win on the day ;D old pic, old days, good friends and great times 8)

phark, just noticed :-\ I still wear the same riding gear ::)

Yea. I still have my old riding gear aswell, Although it has'nt fitted for years. The Suzuki Racing mate nylons and SCP jearsy. Yes I remember Brett but I dont Know him very well. Hopefully catch up at CD8.

Max first built a DR 500 outfit (yellow one) and then came across a Wasp replica. We put the DR engine in that and raced it for a few years. The yellow Wasp Yamaha could be the one currently owned by Vaughn Fletcher. The one that he and Popye crashed in spectacular fashon at CD7. Saw it happen as I was behind them riding the Red Wasp (the nice sounding one) with Stunt man Dave Russel swinging. ;D

More great times to come :D :D
You don't have to be, but it helps.

Hey what about Hawkesbury Honda, Paul Giles used to own it, then his son Shawn then sold to Sean Turl who moved it from Richmond to Windsor in a new store, all good blokes,
