CCM Options
« on: June 02, 2008, 02:50:13 pm »
Looking to build a CCM for evo racing for mu 17 year old son. A little unsure of the later type CCMs, I'm happy to stick with my 73. Have access to a frame builder who has suggested a 79 Jimmy Aird Special. I have a couple of 76 motors with 2 valve and 4 valve heads to fit. Just wondering what option would be the best?

Ross.......I'd be going with the '79 model so you can use your 4 valve head. Alan Jones has a NOS 4 valve head and a basket case 580 engine and is also looking at building a gold tank '79 model replica. Both he and I reckon the '79 is the ace CCM after the '74 model. I reckon your frame guy may have another customer if he wants to do two!.....

Hey Darcy
Would love to just get rid of all my old junk to you, but you know them big bore maicos and CCMs kick back big time, so I think I shouldn't, as I would be saving further injury to that peg of yours.
Going to Bris next week for school sport, but when would be a good time to catchup with you and have a eye ball of the KTM. Any weekend free late June/early july
Rosco.
