Yamaha 250cc 2 stroke enduro for street.
« on: February 02, 2012, 11:45:23 pm »
I'm looking for a registerable Yamaha 250cc 2 stroke enduro.

DT1/2/3
DT250
IT250
etc.

Might even consider a DT175.

Doesn't have to be pretty, or mint, or anything really, except running and roadworthy (or nearly).

Don't have a lot of money. I'm prepared to do a little work to make it roadworthy but would prefer that it wasn't a basketcase.

I'm in Canberra.

Thanks,
Chris.

Would have to be under a grand on the road so $500 or so.

Not expecting anything flash for that.

No worries.  I've been off the road now for 3 years and it's getting to me is all.

I want a bike no matter how simple to get my vibe back. Figured that an old chookie would at least keep me sane for a while.

I realise that I'm probably out of luck given my budget restrictions.

Thanks, anyway.

Thanks Freakshow.  I think, as you already mentioned, the problem would be getting it up here anyway.

Plus, I'm hoping for a Yamaha as I already have a few Yammie bits lying around which would come in handy.  Just not enough to make a bike.

Don't give up, but you may have to widen your options a little bit. I got my Suzuki GS125 on the road (including rego) for about $1000, so it is possible. I've been commuting on it for over a year now.  ;D
