Great EBAY Parts finds of late
« on: February 14, 2012, 08:27:06 pm »
G'day fellow VMX enthusiasts, I must say I have received some great NOS parts - genuine suzuki - of late.  Here's a small list of the things that I have hunted and found:
1/ NOS RM 400 N/T cylinder (USA)
2/ NOS RM 125 1977 optional aluminium swingarm (USA)
3/ NOS RM 125 1977 rear hub (Greece)
4/ NOS RM 125 1977 front hub (USA)
5/ NOS RM 125 1977 front backing plate (USA)
6/ NOS RM 400 N swingarm (USA)
7/ NOS Fox Air Shocks (Netherlands)
plus, plus, plus....

If you are patient and are prepared to look all over the world maybe the part that you've been searching for will turn up eventually (NOS).  It's amazing how many motorcycles have been sold over the past 40 odd years.  Here's an example:  I reckon I've sold approximately 12,000 motorcycles over the past 36 years.  So how many have been sold worldwide?  It's a good question, maybe just maybe some more NOS spare parts will be out there hidden somewhere in this vmx world ???????

Let me know what treasures you have found.

Bear, see you at Broadford HBBB 2012

I got an apparently very clean, original 88 KX250 for $1300 from a $1500 Buy It Now. I say apparently excuse I haven't seen it yet, but so far, so good.

Previously, I've got a good 88 KX125 for $990 and a fairly good 94 KX125 for $200 - both were Buy It Now. I reckon the real bargains are BIN, but hardly anyone gets to see them. ;)

There's been bargains aplenty everywhere lately. I've bought ten bikes in the last six weeks or so...  :P

The old art of the Auction, my father was the best, when he stuck a tallyho paper on his lip, we knew an offer was coming.
Don't show your hand too early, just sit & wait, an item is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it.
I look & watch for however long it takes, if an item doesn't reach an opening bid then throw an offer at them.
They may be desperate or the worst case is that they'll tell you to GFY.
Oportunity knock's.

It,s a sure sign of just how bad the USA economy is when you can buy 2nd hand parts now at half price to what they where 5 years ago. Not to mention a strong Aussie Dollar.  I just bought a reed valve for $140 that 5 years ago I got out bid on ,it went for $240 at the time . I also bought a complete set of front forks for my 1978 Mk11 bultaco Frontera for $89, couldn,t believe my luck ,as I had a $220 max bid on Ebay.  I would have bought a hell of a lot more except the wife is goin ballistic over my credit card bill...ha ha ha ...

nos RMS/TM125 mag cover from ebay Holland was probably the best find $120 ;D I've seen them go for a lot more in the US. I found it by putting in a detailed google search for that part.you dont get the whole world when you search through Ebay. the other was a nos RM125S carb spacer $70 that I had given up on finding :D from US ebay. I was the only bidder on both.
TM125L RM250N TC125L RL250M PE175T RM80C RMX250T ATC70 YZ80B?

I was the only bidder on a Suzuki TM125 Webco head that ended at US$66.00. I sold one of these about seven years ago thinking that I would never use it for almost $300.00.  ;D
