Ceriani Forks ?

Can somone please cenfirm that these are Ceriani forks ?

35mm diameter , Knurled for bottom  tripple , length approx 830mm

How much oil should they hold and what weight oil

Yep Ceriani knurled for clamp gives it away, 15wt and fill to 150mm for the top with springs removed and the fork compressed. If there to soft go up to 20wt or add 12.5mm it should take about 200 to 210mls.

Also pump them a bit as they are same Betor and need the air bleeding from them.

    While  on the subject of ceriani's are they better in performance or build to the humble old betors ? or the same thing just built in different countries

Just ad my bit. They look very much like 200mm travel Cherries that came out on say 1976 KTMs. I have a set on my 76 400. The lower end of the fork could be a bit on the weak side ( so they say ) but I haven't had any trouble with mine. I just put 200 ml of oil in them and they worked fine. No more than 20wt but a Beeza is a bit heavier. KTMs did not have the knurling and had a tapered top to fit into the top triple clamp with no pinch bolt. Hope this helps Bill

They are Cerianis, well the bottoms definately are.

I have had more sets that I would like to ever admit to and have never seen a set with the knurling on the leg like that.

That said I am still learning, so never say never.

Bultaco (Betors) had them with a knurled leg to grip in the lower yoke.

The Ceriani damper bush and assembly will go in the bottom of a Betor leg (same dimensions) so it is possible that the original Ceriani tubes may have expired and been replaced with Bultaco (Betor) tubes.

The threads on the Ceriani legs (3 types) are all different to the Betor thread pitch, so if you used Betor tubes, you couldnt ahve used the Ceriani nuts.

And... looking at the top nuts they look very Betor rather than Ceriani.  What thread pitch do they have as this will give it away.

The dust seal covers are wrong (I have NOS correct ones), seals (but the bucket load) and the correct decals for the bottom of the slider (and tubes, dampers, springs etc) so all thiose bases are covered.

All you need to do provide the spit and polish!

They will look beautiful when polished.

Not that any of this matters, they are a nice looking set of forks and with a service will work very nicely.
