Im looking for a air cooled monoshock yz roller for a project for my wife.I want to fit an xt250 engine as she has trouble keeping a 2 stroke 125 in the power range and she is keen on racing so I want to build her a bike that is easy to ride. She is tall so a yz250,400,465 would be great. Also any advise on such a project appreciated.I.E different chassis,my thought were yamaha motor in a yamaha frame but happy to hear otherwise. Please let me know if you have anything.Happy to pay cash or have heaps of RM125x stuff to trade.Cheers,James.

I know for a fact that the 2 valve xt250 fits into a YZ250J with relative ease.

I'm pretty sure I have a YZ400E or IT400E roller. Will check over the weekend. I'm in Vic, where are you?

Best to ring me 0427334186 Perko

Your best bet would be to fit YZ'S suspenders to the xt chassis, the front end bolts straight up, the rear end takes a little bit more work, go with a an it 250/465 swing arm as the xt snail cam adjuster rear wheel fits straight in, don't use a 175 arm as they drive on the right side, the it shock should also fit fairly easy although the resoviour might cause some probs, all in all a much easier conversion than trying to fit a four stroke motor to a YZ's chassis.

If you fit a YZ arm it must be the 78 model as it has the same brake spring set up fits straight in same with the TT250 frame

Doesn't the xt/tt's have snail cam chain adjusters?

The bike in the pic is exactly what I would like to end up with so I think Ill go with the YZ suspension.Im in northern NSW Perko so prob would cost too much with freight but I think Im better off buying a complete roller for the conversion, would cost too much buying all the parts seperate.I want to stick with the canterlever so think Ill try to find a 400E.

Sorry, was a YZ400D 1977 so it fits into Pre 78 and I think I have a spare motor somewhere for it so I wont split it.
May have a YZ250/400F frame but would have yo put period correct forks in but not neccessarily original ones.
