Dave Boydstun at AMS Racing
http://amsracing.com/product/1040 has this barn find PDV fitted with a DT2MX motor fir sale for $2500. PDV's used a Chinese made Champion copy frame and DT1 copy (ripoff) motor and they weren't all that bad....or at least they weren't as bad as the press of the time made out. This one's got a RT2MX 360cc motor, conical Yamaha hubs and the good Mexican Betors. They were much lighter and supposedly handled better than the equivalent Yamaha (
which wouldn't have been hard to do). It'd make a good hot rod pre 75 bike for the racer who wants something a bit different.
1973-'74 PDV Gingo MX / Desert - Project | Special Frame.....$2500
Also known as a Power Dyne Vehicle
Sold as a project bike
Yamaha RT2MX Motor
In a copy of a Champion MX
Frame made in Taiwan
Betor 35mm Forks
Curnutt Shocks
Plastic large cap. tank
Fiberglass MX Rear Fender Seat Combo
Yamaha wheels YZ style rear - MX style front
A very small series of these bikes were made in Rhode Island USA, or at least distributed from there.
PDV actually had a National MX team in 1974
Would make a very nice sportsman/vintage racing machine; if you like the MX, then this was miles above it!
As Is.
