you will proably find that a N air box fits or even a T/x PE air box. try one one of your PE 250/400 ones.

now im not 100% sure but i think chain guides on N/T models are maybe different and the mounting points for the guide are different and thats why the swing arms have different part numbers? its a bit of a guess but i think i read it in a magazine somewhere. im sure some guys with N/T RMs can help you.

if porting in the barrels are the same it could just be difference in finning/barrel rubber arrangement

The N model swingarm had a small nylon roller mounted on top behind the pivot chain buffer (which is also different). The N also has a frame mounted, spring loaded chain roller underneath the swingarm ( behind the pivot point ). The swingarms look as though they will fit either model . I have a swingarm off a T , which I am not sure if i'm going to use yet , but it is in poor condition with lots of chain rash . I think that the airbox is different in that the T model box has a hole at the back , just below the seat base , where it bolts to a mount on the frame . I believe that the rubber boot between the carb & the airbox is also different . Despite these differences , I think that either airbox will fit ( maybe with minor modifications ). My brother has a RM250T in good race ready condition that he wants to sell . I will list it with a photo soon & I may be able to bring it to CD5 if anyone is interested . I have a RM250N that I want to sell as well, but I don't think that it will be ready in time for CD5.

Swingarms use the same components but different chain guides (1979 has rubber buffer and neoprene slider, 1980 has wrap around neoprene slider only, otherwise they are the same) air boxes are different designs but use the same mounting points on the frame. Cylinders will interchange no problem.

Besides the aforementioned items, the front hub diameter is larger on the T-bigger brakes. The chain tensioning/guide set-up on the N is a lot different to the T-the T was a simpler set-up,but you could use either. The barrel will go straight on-I think some very minor porting changes was about it.The remote shock reservoirs on the T had air valves on top-the N had none.Watch your rear wheel spacers -the left and right are close but different,so try and get a look at a correct one and you should not have any chain problems. The spacer on the right is flat and the one on the left has a slight raised section which points in towards the wheel bearing.
