1977 AW Gearbox Needle bearing removal ?
« on: December 29, 2011, 08:00:26 am »
Gents the right side engine case has a needle bearing that appears to be in a blind hole. What is the best way to get it out? Does it in fact tap through (inward) from the covered end of the bearing? Or does it have be be pulled apart to get it out. Have tried oven heat and bench tapping but it is hanging on.

Thanks Pete

Answer was - it pushes through from the outside In - very tight.
