Nah, we're not that much of a Nanny State - it was a fail for not doing a 'head check' before moving off ;D.

I once did something like that at a traffic dept centre and in full view of that depts training officers!

The club to which I belonged did an advanced motorcycle training school with the local plod. They concentrated on road craft and we concentrated on bike skills. As a challenge we took an S bend and tried to ride it on the schools bike (little 50cc jobbies) and kept tightening it up until the trainers couldn't get around it without dabbing. At this point I grabbed my dads XV1000, hurtled into the S and used maximum rear brake to swing the back end of the bike around the corner thus proving that not only was it possible but it could be done on a big bike too!

The traffic cops bought the beers afterwards  8)
