neck braces with body armour

I've put this up before but there's a few new products on the market recently so I was wondering what people are using now?

Ideally I'd like an under jersey pressure suit style body armour and a neck brace that you could take on and off between races. At the moment I've got old style body armour with an evs brace fitted into it.

Anyone using any combo that works a bit better?

I've got a ~$190 661 turtle suit that's designed to work with a neck brace, and a Leatt Adventure.

They work together fine, but the jersey becomes a real PITA. Basically, if the jersey's head opening would fit over the top of the neck brace, it would be fine - but it doesn't.
So you've got to put the armour on (but don't zip it up all the way), then the jersey, and then get someone to help feed the Leatt into the jersey and armour. Then reach under the jersey and zip the armour up properly.

There's no way you'll want to take it off between races!

I've seen some blokes put their jersey on last, and leave the back part of the jersey on top of the neck brace. I tried it, and it was frikken uncomfortable - pulled the whole lot back on my shoulders.

I also find that the bottom of the back protector always comes out of my nylons. Doesn't really matter, but is bloody annoying in the pits.
The velco shoulder straps on the turtle suit are useless too - they're supposed to hold the shoulder guard part in place, but just come undone all the time instead. I don't find that the should guards move much, but maybe they would in a crash?

I'm not going to replace it, because it basically works fine - but I'd look around a lot more before buying again...

My dress code in order.. socks, knee braces, pants, boots, daniese body armour, shirt, leatt neck brace, helmet, gloves, goggles..

Once the race has finished remove: goggles, gloves, helmet, leatt brace, shirt, body armour, then throw the race shirt back on or a t shirt until the next race.

I tried different ways of wearing the neck brace but found this way most comfortable

I use the Alpinestar Bionic Neck Brace and I ditched the Alpinestar Body Armour Pressure Suit in favour of the Troy Lee body Armour. I found the Alpine Star pressure suit restrictive and uncomfortable after a while. The Troy Lee Armour is only padding with no hard plastic or hard spine protection, but is light and very comfortable. The  rider protection systems today are a vast improvement of what we had in the day... Kidney belt, chest protector, helmet, mouth guard (clip on), goggles and gloves (top of body).

                      While not new on the market i feel this is the perfect combo for you.

The armour ( 10mm plate steel ) actually fits over your jersey and for the neck you should use 25mm three strand rope tied in a slipping noose arrangement. Absolutely no problems with neck and armour hardware fouling each other. From memory i think it was called the NED KELLY SET UP.

While this may not offer much protection for yourself it will sure as hell save the rest of us from you!!! 100% guaranteed .

Unless I run you over while you recline in the pits after tiring yourself out rubbing Armour-all on your bike I think you're pretty safe

I've looked at the Alpinestars gear, they seem to be one of the only ones around that do both components? I'm not too keen on the 'soft' body armour. Plus, they seem to all be sans-shoulder guards.

I don't get 'sick' leave if I come off the bike and hurt myself, so I'm just trying to make sure I've got the best options re safety gear I can afford.
