Slide Regulator

G'day smart ones could someone please tell me what this is used for slide regulator output 0-260v its made by Powertech what is it worth brand new.Its been given to me to sell but it would be good if I new what the bloody thing is.

I've heard my bro (Eurekaman) talk about slide regulators for solar power stuff but I'm not sure what's what. He's the managing director of the company solarlife.com.auso I could ask if he knows.

sounds like a "Variac" or "Voltac" an AC autotransformer variable ac output from 0-260Vac

Doc that would be good if you could please mate.Hoony I think you might have something as it does say  Variac SRV-5 CAP:500VA on it. Whats it worth  ?

we'll just wait a sec Jimson  I think Hoony's right!..IT IS one of those!..errr..variathingys  :P maybe it's worth squillions. ???.I thought at first the topic was about a governer..which..I guess it could be but not the type I was thinking ala kids minicycle and the goood old briggs and statton..(shitboxes! for once I wish I owned Honda's :P;D if no go I'll pester bro on the matter asap ;)

no really sure how much they are worth, but i would guess at a $150-350. a handy thing for an electricians test bench and that's about it really, not many practical uses, and as your unit is 500VA its only good for 2 amps at 250Vac. good luck !
