« on: October 11, 2011, 04:57:08 pm »
Next Saturday night I'm going with an old Merrylands mate to a night in San Souci somewhere to a get-together put on by the Veteran Speedway Riders mob. Any of you dudes be there?
I believe an ex world champ will be speaking.
 cheers pancho.

I'm sure you'll have a great night Wally.
It's been a long time since I went to one and should really make more of an effort.
Enjoy and we demand some photo's.

 Ivan didn't show.
But I had some interesting conversations with blokes at our table, all at our table except Fred Boyd and myself were older sidecar exponents.
I did meet briefly Ove Fundin.
A very pleasant person to talk to.
When I first got there this bloke said "G'day Wal", I would not have picked him as a bloke named "Mouse" that I last saw in Barry Ryans shop about 1963!Cheers pancho.

Pancho when I worked at Bennetts at Mascot in the late sixtys a guy by the name of Ken Benson (nick name Mouse) used to come in and pick up new bikes for Scotts. Am wondering if it is the same fella. Good bloke.

Glad to hear he's still getting around, used to spanner for Ole Olsen.
