RM rotor removal
« on: October 05, 2011, 06:27:00 pm »
I am disassembling my RM 250 motor and have got to the point of removing the rotor. The Suzuki book tells me I need special tool number 09930-30210 I dont have one of those can you get it at Super cheap ??
Failing that does any one have suggestions on another tool that will do the job? I tried the old standard bearing puller but I could see that this will probably end in tears.

Nips , Buy 2 bolts ( 5mm x .8 pitch x 60mm long ) ... they will screw into the stator, then get a piece of plate  80mm in dia approx  &  10mm  thick  drill a 12mm hole in the centre then weld a M 10 nut over the top of the hole - grind a point onto the bolt  ( 50mm long )  that goes thru the M 10 -  measure the distance the 2 stator threads are apart and transfer that onto your plate drilling the holes @ 6mm dia ...... now you have a puller

The regular small to mid size 2 or 3 prong gear puller does it easy also. These are available at Supercheap and can be used in other applications as well ;)
