parts washing in dishwasher

As the heading implies.  I have cleaned up a set of engine cases aluminium ( removed paint ) and are about to but them in thru a dishwasher cycle prior to applying new paint
What is the best product to use when washing aluminium cases ......It would need to be alkaline free as it would turn the cases grey  and possible Ph nuetral.

What products have you tried and work .

Stewy, I can see a domestic coming on and you may end up having to grow that facial hair back again if she finds out.

Common boys I'm happily married .... a happy wife is a happy life  ;D

I have a dishwasher In me garage  that I scored from a customer some time ago that leaked  around  the door  seal .... of which has be replaced and have been using as a parts washer ... metal objects .  Prior to doing my first wash of alloy parts on the packet reads   "cussions morning fresh complete for DW  ( says not for alloy or silver )

Morning fresh  liquid might be a goer ..... might put  few drops  the bottom and give that a go       MSD  says it is  is PH neutral

Pete, believe me it's a long time between drinks.

OK, this is very dangerous, because if you know who finds out I'm toast... ;D

Spray the parts with mag wheel cleaner and then use a teaspoon full of car wash liquid in the "powder dispenser" (it will spill out and get mixed in ok -- same as the powder would)
DO NOT us ordinary dishwasher detergents.
Wash on the hot setting heavy duty etc'
Does not get parts any cleaner than you could by hand but you can watch the game and clean parts all at once -- multi tasking
Do not leave parts too long once they have "dried" using the heat cycle because rust will start quickly on bearing etc.
