74 MX250A selling reluctantly but I am not getting the enjoyment out of the bike I was hoping for. I bought this bike 2 years ago needing quite a lot of work to get it going. I have also spent a fair bit fixing clutch issues and had top end work done. The numbers are matching. My goal with the bike was to make a classic dirt tracker to allow me to get in more races during a race meeting and maybe do some VMX. I had a spare rear wheel made with knobby to do this but time has not allowed me to do other than dirt track. I have some other spares with the bike, another rear hub, rear axle, the original chrome bars, (alloy bars on the bike now) and the original shocks. I have been having trouble getting the bike to run properly at high rpm. I wanted a bike I could work on myself but it is difficult for me to work on bikes during the week and weekends are for riding, not tinkering. Because I am no longer enjoying the bike, I have decided to let it go and will buy another modern bike. I am going to list it on e bay at the end of the week with a starting price of $3500.00 I paid that for the bike 2 years ago and spent probably another $2000 on it. So while there is some sort of carb, electrical or other problem with the bike, (also slight skip in 4th gear) someone will get this bike for what I paid for it as well as what I put into it. I am not desperate to sell so please don't be an arsehole and tell me the bike isn't worth $3500.00 I could easily store the bike and look at it every once in a while and I will never sell it unless I get at least $3500.00 for it.
I will try to post some pictures this week and will bring the bike to Nepean this Sunday where I am riding my modern bike in the Speedway/Short Circuit event.
