How did it all turn out ?
Happy ?
 What,s it go like ?
I have a brand new 1982/125GS compliance plate off my 81 MX .
It was given to me in a plastic bag with the bike. ;D

Hey Mike,

Well as it turns out it's in not too bad nick at all.

The pics make it look better than it really is - some cracked and brittle plastic, plenty of paint missing, brakes and suspension need serious work and a fair few incorrect nuts and bolts, but mechanically ok.

It starts ok and it goes like all-the-powers-of-piss. Seriously.
It is wickedly fast. Especially with a 39mm Keihin on it.

I've ordered an MX plastic kit for it from DC and a few odds and sods from Andre to replace some missing and worn-out bits.
I intend to do a light resto and ride it in the pre-90 class with the QVMX.

Hopefully I'll have it sorted enough to bring it along to the Conondale Classic.

The plan is to register it and fit up some motard wheels for a run up Mt Glorious every now and then.
Oh and trail-ride it. I figure 500cc's of two-stroke insanity is adequate.

I'll take some pics along the way...

Cheers
Paul

Well, it gets better and better...

I pulled the clutch basket last night (to file the fingers) only to discover all the rivets joining the basket to the gear are loose ::) .

Anyone have a lead on someone who can fix this?

And... at least one of the gearbox bearings has surface rust on it (from the water leak this bike has had at some stage).

Grrrr... >:(
