Long time member of the old Merrylands District MCC Ken Waters left us after a quick short spell in hospital from pneumonia this week.
We remember Ken with affection as an old friend we saw every November at our anual get together.
Ken built and rode a beautifully prepared MOV Velocette road racer till about 1960 which was ridden into 1st place at MT Druitt by Roy East.
Ken rode it himself at Bathurst to a 3rd place in the light weight [250cc] class.
Don't remember what year.
Later in life Ken devoted his spare time to painting action scenes of his favorite Aus. road race personalities to a very high standard.
We will miss his enthusiasm for anything and anyone connected to motor cycles.
