Bike from Uk to Australia?
« on: June 30, 2011, 12:02:11 am »
Couldn't help myself, saw a deal too good to miss out of the U.K so a new bike is all but mine.

Now the hard part, I've never had any experience shipping a bike from the U.K, so any help or contacts would be appreciated.

Last time I shipped from the UK I used Main Freight , the shipping charge was $180 for the sea part as we have dirt cheap and efficient sea transport system...... THEN you need insurance, pick up, security inspection UK, port charge UK, customs clearance Aus, Bio Security clearance, tax and GST, oh and fumigation if it is dirty ..... so I think it was finally $850. There is not really much scope for cheap price as freight is the cheap bit.....it is all add on costs.
