Hey Graeme, a posting problem.
« on: February 19, 2008, 11:32:22 am »
Last night I tried to load a photo of my new Maico.
I pooftered with the 'Paint' program and reduced the photo to about 115kb, typed a story and pressed 'post'.
It wouldn't allow as photo was too big.
I re-sized again and again; finally it was a happy size but upon posting a box appeared stating an error had occured as I'd already posted the topic.

I changed the subject name at least three times but each time the box advised it had already been posted.
I checked my history of posts and it wasn't showing.
I checked the 'Maico' thread and it wasn't there either.
I tried again and a box appeared stating the upload folder was full.
Same thing about one hour later.
This morning I've had a look expecting to see about seven copies of the same post but fortunately that didn't happen.
All a bit odd but I thought you should know. ???

I have encountered this problem too, what I do now after resizing a picture is copy all the text I have written and click post. If it says that the pic is too big then I resize and start a new thread with the same title and paste the text from the previous attempt and it usually works unless I have to resize again.

Thanks, I can see that will work.
Ever tried posting just as the log in time runs out?
AAAARRGGHHHH!!! you lose the lot.
As a result I've learnt to copy before posting.

The error message is just one of those things working with the internet. Using Back and reposting and things will sometimes confuse the software. In those cases, just close Explorer and start again. As for the upload folder, yep it's full. 65 Mb of attachments. I just reset it to 100 Mb, but I think I might have to go through and delete any photos etc over say 6 months old...
