During the early '80's, my 350 Bultaco Sherpa (Model 199A) sidecar had a bad habit of "going into reverse" if you really laboured the engine and clutched it just as it was on the point of stalling. The first time this happened was while riding a very tough / steep uphill section and it can only be described as an interesting experience when you have let the clutch out and find that instead of going up the hill, you are suddenly going down the hill in "reverse". After the excitment of the first time I became quite adept at getting it to run backwards and we would occasionally ride between section in "reverse" just to see the reaction of the other riders and spectators.
