Suzuki TM400 CDI ignition.
« on: May 21, 2011, 10:03:43 pm »
I was prepping my Boyd and Stellings TM400 for CD8 today and at first things looked good..strong spark, plenty of compression and fuel. The old girl started easily and sounded like the real deal. Happy with that I went back to working on the Hindall for a while until a mate came over who wanted to hear the Suzuki run.
Sadly......You guessed it, there was no spark..or a very weak, spasmodic spark at best. I tried everything from my book of instant fixes but still no spark.
Because of the short time factor between now and CD8 blast off, I'm asking if anyone has a complete TM400 CDI ignition they'd like to sell me. Failing that, a top coil and black box might get me out of the shite. a

One question for the brains trust....Would a Yamaha CDI coil work on the Suzuki ignition? Does anyone have any suggestions?

Mate, sent the whole kit and caboodle to Small Coil Rewinds in Melborne...ph 03-52788454....I've got 2 there at the moment.....send coil, CDI box, stator plate, flywheel and the wiring and they test run the whole lot....last one cost under $200 and turn around time a couple of days....sent it in a overnight bag....$14 from Brissy......plenty of time.....now go make your mum a nice cuppa.
