Were the Bassani pipes for early Yamaha DT2MX any good for performance?

I don't know about the Yam's but I picked up a NOS Bassani for a TS185 and it made it fly.  Only downside is it's noisy.

can't really comment on the DT2MX but for the earlier DT/RT1,2,3 etc the stock pipe was just so wrong that anything would be better. they were the industry standard back in the day and are widely recognised as being a good thing.
obviously, a more modern design will naturally be better but may remove the period appearance
