Anyone Recognise this Airfilter?
« on: May 17, 2011, 08:37:14 am »
Hi guys,

Just pulled the airfilter out of a bike to clean it in preparation for CD8, and noticed the filter's starting to tear.  (never ridden the bike before, so first filter clean).  It came out of an IT400D, although the airbox (like much of the rest of the bike) may not be standard.

Do any of you Yamaha specialists out there recognise what it is?  I've been told that it doesn't look to be an IT400D airfilter. Anyone got any ideas so I can order another one?

Thanks, Tony

Filter itself looks homemade.
Any pics of airbox and filter cage?

Doesn't look like the original. The original is more of a pyramid shape.
The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

I can get some more photos on the weekend (the bike's in my storage unit)...  If it's home made, it's very well done.

The filter cage is in the filter in the photos - I'll pull it out tonight - it's metal, not plastic....   ???

You can send yours to uni filter and they can make you one the same.

Thanks, I may do - I'll clean it tonight and maybe see if it's repairable first.  Only has to last CD8, then I'm stripping the motor out and parting out the rest of the bike..
