First ride YZ500F
« on: April 29, 2011, 06:20:40 pm »
Took the beast for it's first proper ride today.

Very pleased with first impressions, suspension nice and firm, Power strong and willing to rev, still with plenty of pull. Seamed to jump ok as well.

Very nice! Two questions. 1. Is that a Honda engine? 2. How the heck did you fit a carby in there?

Yes its a Honda 500. I thought it was the most compact four stroke motor, I all ready had a spare YZ250l frame as my other bikes are Yamahas. Fitting a carby was my biggest challenge and I managed to fit a 38mm Dellorto.
